Taryn Grimes, Award winning writer, director and producer
Author , Taryn Grimes, an award-winning writer/director/producer who creates projects for television, film, and digital media platforms. Before transitioning to writing and producing, Taryn was a Broadway, film and television actress. Most notable roles include Eleanor Dare, in the Emmy Award-winning PBS Mini-Series, “Roanoke: The Lost Colony,” and Muriel McComber in “Take Me Along” on Broadway.
We are going to talk about everything! Her career, what is happening in NYC with the COVID-19 Lockdown, and her recent book, Inappropriate Laughter. In this self-help memoir, Taryn finds the line between death and comedy unexpectedly blurred.
Taryn, the youngest of seven children, rushes to her 96-year-old mother’s deathbed for one final goodbye.
After discovering her mother’s journal, Taryn gets lost in the tragic, humorous, and romantic stories of life during World War II. With each entry, she finds one more piece of the puzzle, one more clue to her mother’s life story, and gathers one more life-changing insight.
With brutal honesty, the story delicately balances between emotional vulnerability and the kind of joy that can only be experienced through Inappropriate Laughter.
